My current private practice rate is $200 per hour.

I am Insurance-Friendly. As an out-of-network provider, I have partnered with Mentaya to help my clients save money on therapy. Mentaya is a service that streamlines getting reimbursed for your therapy sessions through out-of-network benefits. You can use the box at the bottom of this page to see if you qualify for reimbursement through your out of network benefits plan.
I am happy to discuss what your out-of-network benefits may cover and ways to find out from your insurance. I can provide a Superbill at your request for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. If you have a Flex Spending Account (FSA) through your employer, clients have been successful in using those funds to pay for services.

What are out-of-network benefits?
Here's a breakdown:
✨ If your insurance plan offers out-of-network benefits, it means they will cover a portion of the cost when you see a therapist who doesn't have a direct contract with your insurance company.
✨ Unlike in-network providers, who bill your insurance company directly, with out-of-network therapists, you typically pay for the session upfront and then submit a claim to your insurance for reimbursement.
✨ Insurance companies often reimburse a percentage of the therapist's fee, usually after you meet an out-of-network deductible. For example, after you meet a $1,000 deductible, your insurance may reimburse 50-80% of the session cost.
✨ Out-of-network benefits give you the flexibility to choose a therapist based on your needs and preferences, not just those in-network.
With companies like Mentaya and another similar one, Thrizer, my practice will enter your sessions into the platform, then Mentaya submits the claim and handles any insurance follow-up. They do take have a 5% fee for the work that they do, but you save time and energy not dealing with insurance to get reimbursed. It's risk-free: They guarantee claims are successfully submitted, or a full refund of their fees.

You can enter your insurance details in the secure box at the bottom of the page to see if you have out-of-network benefits.

Good Faith Estimate Notice:
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
